Physics students of University of Latvia’s Physics, Mathematics and optometry faculty will be able to apply for a new scholarship. The goal is to help raise student’s interest of physics education.
Scholarships (which are going to be 700 euro a month) are intended for those students, who choose to gain knowledge about courses which are linked to physics education and pedagogy. They are meant to give students more motivation to learn about physics and increase the amount of graduate students within study courses based around physics.
Students eligible for the scholarship:
No more than 10 scholarships to 3rd course Bachelor study programme students who:
- are doing their obligated Academic practice II (2KP) as well as the limited choice Teaching methodology of physics I (6KP) courses in the university.
- chose Teaching methodology of physics II (6KP) as their limited choice course as well as Pedagogy course (2KP) after a successful 5th or 6th semester, can continue to receive this scholarship.
Scholarship requirements:
- be diligent, be able in study life as well as active in society around you;
- weighted average grade higher than or equal to 7,5 points (beginning with 2nd year Bachelor students – the weighted average grade of their last semester).
