In the academic year of 2021./2022. DELFI gifts “DELFI plus” subscriptions to University of Latvia Foundation scholarship holders. DELFI is supporting students with scholarships for the 3rd time already, however it is the 2nd time the subscription is gifted. This year the medium attributed more than 140 subscriptions.

DELFI is the leading news media in which it is also possible to subscribe to the content of “DELFI plus”, which, in addition to daily news, offers an in-depth insight into events in Latvia and the world. It is possible for users to see and read a variety of content about politics, economics, culture, sport, and it is also possible to listen to different lifestyle interviews and video lectures. A number of LU fund scholarship holders are commenting on the DELFI plus subscription.

“I am grateful for the successful “Delfi+” subscription - binding expert comments and in-depth reviews on the most pressing topics (for which sources are also mentioned) allow you to keep your hand on the pulse of current events. The issue of content consumption has become a matter of concern, particularly in recent years, when we are increasingly confronted with sloppy reporting, disinformation, and the so-called information bubbles (echo-chambers). Ensuring a consistent and secure source of news is more important than ever,” says Elizabete Grinblate, a 2nd year student of the LU Faculty of Humanities.

Trīne Žagare, 3rd year student in LU History and Philosophy faculty says: "The DELFI+ subscription allows you to get acquainted with topics which you would normally not think about, as well as get in depth knowledge about current events. As a student of history, I am interested in history-related articles, which are very informative and analytical about the topics, including articles related to the problems of Latvia's Independence War. I am pleased about the fact that there are always sources and studies provided on which the articles are based, which allows you to verify the truth of the news and continue to be interested in the subject."

Aleksejs Popovs, a student of the LU Business, Management and Economics Faculty, has received the subscription for the second time: “For the second year in a row, the University of Latvia Foundation gives scholarship holders the opportunity receive “DELFI Plus” subscription. This year I have also actively used the opportunity to read good quality and objective articles offered by the DELFI team. As a future economist, I find useful news articles about what is happening in the world, as well as analytical articles and projects such as “Latvia 2030”. I would also like to highlight the renewed DELFI form, which is now modern and relevant to the quality of the content. I am grateful for this opportunity to both DELFI and LU Foundation. Unfortunately, my wish of the new DELFI Business subscription didn’t come true this year, but I hope it will, next year! "

Thanks DELFI for the support!
