Latvia’s largest study festival “Universs@LU” for students, teachers, and parents – February 21–22! For two days, there will be an opportunity to learn about both study and scholarship opportunities. Additionally, visitors will be able to explore one of Northern Europe’s most modern study and research centers – the University of Latvia Academic Center on Jelgavas Street.
The “Universs@LU” festival will take place on Friday, February 21, from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM, and Saturday, February 22, from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM at the LU Academic Center’s Science House (Jelgavas Street 3, Riga). More about the festival: universs.lu.lv/par-mums/zinas/.
The University of Latvia Foundation will also participate in the event. On the 2nd floor, it will be possible to meet University of Latvia Foundation representatives, who will provide information about scholarships. With the help of a selfie mirror, visitors will be able to step into the shoes of an University of Latvia graduate. By posting pictures on social media, there will be an opportunity to receive prizes.
On stage, University of Latvia Foundation stories will entertain visitors both days. On Friday at 11:30 AM, Radio Naba’s “Studentu pietura” host, ESZF Communication Science 3rd-year student Luīze Špaka, will present the topic “How I Didn’t Apply for an University of Latvia Foundation Scholarship.”
Meanwhile, on Saturday at 11:30 AM, LU Foundation Board Member Prof. Mārcis Auziņš will gather listeners with the topic “How to Plan Your Future Without Making Mistakes?”
The goal of the festival is to show young people the diversity of higher education and the opportunities it offers – to obtain a world-class education right here in Latvia. Everyone will have the opportunity to learn about study and extracurricular opportunities at the University by meeting University of Latvia faculty, researchers, and students. If study choices still feel like “the big unknown,” a career consultant will help find the right path. There will also be expert advice, inspiring stories, a special competition for schools, creative workshops and experiments, virtual reality experiences, LU digital ambassadors’ activities on social media, contests, and prizes.
The brightest minds in the world are concentrated in universities, so LU, as the largest university in Latvia, wants to ensure that our young talents find both the most suitable field of study and the most outstanding teachers, as well as the best friends and future colleagues!
Participation in the festival is free of charge.
